Refillo

Refillo is a project that brings back the old milkman, however instead of milk, they wish to deliver eco-friendly cleaning products using a circular bottle system.
Plastic waste is a global threat. Only 43% of the Italian plastic waste is recycled; the rest remains on earth for centuries. Packaging represents almost half of the total plastic waste generated yearly and it is impressive to realize that the only value it brings is containing goods. Consumers are becoming aware of this issue and want to modify their consumption habits without giving up on a digital experience, fitting their everyday life.
Refillo is an innovative delivery service, where plastic bottles are lent to the clients under deposit, collected when empty, washed and refilled to be delivered to the next customer. It is designed to be a fully sustainable company. Starting from reusable containers Refillo invests in, all materials are made of recycled materials, chosen according to durability criteria, as they will go through the washing facility as many times as possible. The washing phase also aims at keeping emissions as low as possible with low water temperatures. The bottle’s content is eco-friendly, biodegradable and entirely made of organic ingredients. The delivery at home is made by bike for customers living in urban areas and will be made by e-trucks in more remote areas, after scaling.
