CI Meeting with LATAM & Caribbean Ambassadors, Swiss Mission & WMOs - 15.11. 2021
It was an honor for our organization to host an official meeting at the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva with crucial international representatives and stakeholders. The Circular Influence community brings together a wide spectrum of citizens, private companies, NGOs, universities, municipalities, government representatives, foundations, investors, business owners and students - all connected by a simple but a powerful bond: creating a positive climate impact whether that means getting involved in our programmes, collaborating on research or supporting us through donations.
Our meeting in Geneva was another step in this journey which is why it was with great pleasure that we offered our framework to an attentive group of ambassadors and investors from Latin America and Switzerland. During this meeting the Founder and CEO of Circular Influence gave a presentation on the impact that our community continues to build as well as the statistics of our programmes.
Since our foundation we have worked with more than 600 innovators through 4 different EIT Climate-KIC programmes. 3 of these were already our second editions but we keep on expanding each year: in 2021 we launched a student-focused programme, Young Innovators and hosted our first Young Climathon. Even more, we are already securing new additional programmes for next year. It is also worth mentioning that our startups are truly successful. We never fail to bring one or more representatives to the Global Finals of these competitions which serves us as a firm and rewarding affirmation of our approach.
Are you ready for some insights into our numbers?
The majority of our startups focus on 4 sectors: Food,Agriculture & Land Use; Industry; Digital Transformation and Social Inclusion & Gender Equality. When comparing all of our programmes, women represent between 47% to 68% of our startup founding teams while around 75% of our teams have a mixed gender profile. When it comes to the ages of our participants, we have worked with people between 11 and 65 years old although the majority of our participants is under 35. And lastly, over the 2 years of our existence, we have established more than 50 international and national alliances.
As mentioned already, it was a great moment of gratitude and pride to be able to display these statistics to esteemed representatives of various countries and investment companies. We are now in the process of establishing further partnerships and nominating focal points through national delegates in each country. Our community does not stop expanding and we would like to formally give our thanks to all our partners and supporters who are turning our vision into reality.
