In 2020 we introduced green thinkers from Argentina and Uruguay to the world’s largest green business ideas competition, the Climate Launchpad. This initiative seeks to find talents all around the world and provide training, coaching, and support to those who want to address the negative impacts of climate change by way of innovation and invention.

The process started on the 4th of May when the applications opened for anyone ready to compete with their ideas. To continue, Circular Influence offered four separate introductory webinars on the 8th, 22nd, 24th and 26th of June both in Spanish and English.

We were delighted to find that 42 teams applied to the first edition of the ClimateLaunchpad, and after careful consideration, the best 12 teams were selected for the National Finals.

The teams then undertook several training sessions. Thanks to our partners who provided experienced professionals and other experts we created a group of 11 coaches who led our teams through the competitive journey and motivated them along the way.

From the 15th to the 17th of July, the teams participated in an online intensive 15-hour BootCamp. Even more, during the following 4 weeks, the selected teams took part in 7 follow-up modules, tailored and given by our network of experts and partners. Here, the participants discovered topics such as Customer discovery, Assumptions, Experiment design, Competitive advantage, Jobs to be done, Pitch prep or PMI. We also hosted a workshop “Climate Impact Forecast” on the 30th of July, to help the teams measure the impact of each of their projects.

Our first National Finals were held on the 10th of September 2020. The winners for 2020 in Argentina and Uruguay were Sosei, Ruuts and JVF Group. Eight days later, in the Regional Finals, Sosei and JVF Group were chosen to represent us at the Global Finals.

The first edition of the Climate Launchpad was already a great success and we are looking forward to leading the way for many other innovators in the future.
